Payment

All rides must be paid for in advance by card, no cash facilities at the site.

Cancellations must be notified 48 hours in advance of ride.  Refunds will not be given for cancellations on the same day.

Riding Abilities

Riders must be suitable for the ride booked if a rider is assessed by the instructors not to be of the correct standard for the ride, we will endeavour to offer an alternative ride, subject to staffing and horse availability.  If this is not possible then any deposits paid will be lost.  Please ensure you check the standard required of riders before confirming the booking.  See below of expected standards

Family beginner Lead Rein – Beginner children and adults not ridden before a staff member will assist you on the ride.  Visiting walkers alongside the ride are allowed but be aware that horses are always a risk and so correct distances should be maintained and dogs, prams, umbrellas etc. kept away from the horses.

One Hour – Walk and Trot able to control their horses in open spaces and on the road. An assessment will be undertaken and if the rider is found not to the standard for the ride then an alternative will be offered without refund.

Larger riders should seek advice from the office as the restrictions for riders over 14 stone in weight.

Clothing and Equipment Required

Hats

All riders must wear a British Standard Riding Hat.  The centre may request an inspection of the hat and if it is not of the standard adult riders can choose to sign a disclaimer saying they have chosen to wear that hat. Correct standard hats are available at the yard for use by clients.

Boots

All stirrups have daps and stout shoes are recommended Open toed shoes not recommended for riders or walkers please ensure you wear stout footwear.

Risk

Horse riding is a high-risk sport and it is recommended that riders hold their own personal accident insurance.
